Normally, referencing a control on another Form requires that the name of the Form containing the control be included in the reference as follows:
FormName!ControlName.PropertyName
Declaring a global Object variable to reference the control eliminates the need to include the FormName in the reference. Use the following code to create a global reference.
Place this code in the declarations section of a BAS module
Global MyGlobalName As ClassName
The ClassName of a control can be found in the properties list when the control name property is highlighted.
Place this code in the Form_Load event.
Set MyGlobalName = ControlName
ControlName is the name assigned to the control in the properties list.
The control may now be referenced from anywhere in the application as MyGlobalName.Property.
Example
Dim StatusLabel As Label
Set StatusLabel = Label1
